The Center of Microarray Technology can assist in the design, preparation and analysis of custom microarrays whether for gene expression, ChIP on CHIP, comparative genomic hybridization or other applications. The facility can support researchers who are making microarrays on 25x75mm glass substrates, using either PCR product from cDNA libraries or oligonucleotide as probes.
Please Note: The arrays manyfactured at CMT are for use with dual-color detection unless you have a way to quantify the amount of probe per spot per array.
If you do not have PCR products or oligonucleotides already, the facility staff is available to consult on design aspects of the array such as control genes, reagent selection, and PCR amplification. We may be able to do the PCR amplification for you using our liquid handling system (Please contact us with details on your requirements etc.).
If you have the PCR product or oligonucleotides that are ready to be printed onto a microarray slide the printing material will be lyophilized, and then resuspended in the appropriate printing buffer. Our OminGrid 100 can fabricate up to 100 slides at a time (each slide may have more than one array but it depends on the array size), using as many as 48 Telechem Stealth pins, achieving densities of 30,000 - 35,000 spots per slide. If you need flexibility in chip layout, we cal also use the Cartesian Arrayer, although it has a lower density limit as compared to OmniGrid 100.
