3D Reconstruction of the Actin Coil

Sperm were stained with Texas Red Phalloidin to visualize actin and Dapi to visualize DNA. The data was collected using widefield light microscopy with 67nm x 67nm x 134nm sampling (x:y:z) through the specimen. The raw data was then deconvolved using Huygens2 software (Scientific Volume Imaging) on an SGI Origin 3000. Courtesy James G. Evans.
